Grace Gowera, Recipient of CSSS Pedology Travel Award

Dr. Grace Gowera is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Saskatchewan, holding a PhD in Soil Science. Her research combines remote sensing, soil spectroscopy, geospatial analysis, and machine learning to rapidly predict and map soil properties, particularly soil salinity and soil organic carbon, to support sustainable soil management.

Nastaran Chalabianlou Vayjoyeh, Recipient of CSSS Pedology Travel Award

Dr. Nastaran Chalabianlou Vayjoyeh is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of Guelph, where she completed her PhD in 2023. Her research focuses on soil organic carbon stocks across soil profiles, the effects of land use and erosion on carbon distribution, and improving carbon measurement methods in calcareous soils. Her work contributes to more accurate soil carbon accounting and a better understanding of subsoil carbon in agricultural landscapes.
